Inside Look at Kings Dominion's All-New Oktoberfest

Kings Dominion is known for delivering one-of-a-kind experiences, and this fall, the park is introducing a beloved tradition—Oktoberfest! Combining classic German festivities with the excitement of Kings Dominion, Oktoberfest is one of the park’s can’t-miss fall events. View the map and event guide.

Oktoberfest at Kings Dominion 

Kings Dominion brings the charm of a traditional German Oktoberfest right to Central Virginia, offering fun for all ages. Guests can immerse themselves in fall’s vibrant colors as they enjoy a rich cultural experience amidst all the thrills the park has to offer. 

Oktoberfest takes place in the Candy Apple Grove event space, between Americana and Xtreme SkyFlyer. The event lawn near Racer 75 is a central hub, allowing guests to take in the festival along with breaths of crisp fall air. 

Bites and Brews

Activities for All Ages 

Oktoberfest at Kings Dominion offers a range of fun activities. Here are five exciting experiences guests can look forward to: 

  • TapZeeKeg Ceremony: Oktoberfest starts each day with a traditional keg tapping ceremony! Festivities kick off as soon as the keg is tapped, and insiders know to arrive to the event area before 12:00 PM to catch a front row seat.
  • Friendly Competitions: Strong arms? Contestants put their strength to the test in the Last Stein Standing stein holding contest. Strong appetite? Contestants showcase their hunger for victory in the Brat Bingeing Challenge. Winners of the competitions receive bragging rights and the title of Oktoberfest champion!
  • Games: Get in on the fun with yard games like cornhole —perfect for guests of all ages.
  • Color-by-Numbers: Aspiring artists and creatives can unite in completing the Oktoberfest color-by-numbers mural. Return at the end of the day to admire the finished masterpiece!

German-Inspired Live Entertainment 

What’s Oktoberfest without festive music? The Oompah Delics, a lively brass band clad in lederhosen, create an immersive atmosphere that captures the essence of German culture.

Commemorate the Oktoberfest experience with event-exclusive merchandise. A limited-edition Oktoberfest t-shirt and collectible pin are available for purchase in Twist & Shop during the festival. Additionally, guests who purchase select beverages will receive a collectible Oktoberfest stein.
