Best Places to Watch Fireworks at Kings Dominion

Our nation’s holiday signifies patriotism, a monumental stamp in history, and time with family and friends. While all this rings true, the first image that usually comes to mind when someone mentions the Fourth of July is big, bursting fireworks!

We’re honored to celebrate Independence Day at the park by offering TWO FREE tickets to retired and active military all week long and holding an extended fireworks show (in addition to our Grand Carnivale fireworks!) on the 4th.

You wait all year to see the dazzling display in the sky, so you need to make sure to get the absolute best view in the park. We’re here to give you a heads up on some of the best spots to watch fireworks at Kings Dominion, so you don’t miss one bright light!

Candy Apple Grove

Grab a Candy Apple and take a seat, as this is one of our most popular places to view fireworks in the park! With ample seating among the streets, this is a popular place to watch if you’re with a larger group.

Safari Village

With fireworks as tall as Intimidator 305, it just feels right that one of the best places to view our light show is down in Safari Village (specifically by Backlot Stunt Coaster)! Between the rides and the fireworks, it truly is a picture-perfect scene.

4th of July Fireworks in Richmond, VA at Kings Dominion

Top of the Eiffel Tower

We may be biased, but this might be the best firework view all around! There are few places where you can watch fireworks at eye level, and this is one of them. The fountain below just adds another beautiful piece of scenery to an already stunning light display. If you’re looking for a different firework point-of-view this year, from multiple vantage points, you might want to consider making your way to the top of the Eiffel Tower.

4th of July Fireworks Show at Kings Dominion

International Street

If you happen to be in the park this week during the last of our international celebration, you’ll want to get a spot on International Street for our Grand Carnivale fireworks display! You won’t even need to walk far, as the Carnivale Street Party will be held just in front of the Eiffel Tower, where you can dance your way into the night and top it off with fireworks daily through July 7.

4th of July Fireworks Show Visible over Kings Dominion Amusement Park

Don’t forget, we have fireworks each evening to close out our Grand Carnivale celebration through July 7, with an additional, extended fireworks show for July 4th. Spend the holiday with thrills, splashes, partying, and fireworks at Kings Dominion this year!
