Daytime in the fall at Kings Dominion means festive fun for the whole family with The Great Pumpkin Fest! Every Saturday and Sunday from September 21 – November 2, Planet Snoopy will be filled with festivities that every member of the family can enjoy. Activities range from decorating pumpkins to racing through hay mazes and so much more! This scare-free event is held during the day from noon – 5:00 PM. To help you avoid the scary stuff at night, Planet Snoopy also closes at 6:00 PM as the park transforms for Halloween Haunt. Here is your guide to the 2019 Great Pumpkin Fest!

Getting Started

Kids are encouraged to dress in their best Halloween costume for the occasion (no obstructing masks permitted) and check in at The Great Pumpkin Fest Headquarters upon arrival, located at the entrance of Planet Snoopy. There they will receive a map of all the activities included in the event, as well as a treat bag to hold their prizes. The PEANUTS gang will be dressed in their Halloween best to take spooky pictures with you at the Snoopy Boutique and hand out candy.

Aside from the specific attractions at The Great Pumpkin Fest, we’ll also be continuing our hit-shows from this summer season, Space Beagle (located at the PEANUTS™ Showplace) and Franklin’s Dance Party (located at PEANUTS™ Playhouse).

New in 2019

Dark Tower – Join us for a Halloween puppet show that is sure to entertain the whole family. Located at PEANUTS™ Playhouse, this show features a cast of beautifully hand-crafted marionette performers. Their tricks will amaze, while their treats will amuse!

The Candy Horns – This sweet brass band takes to the midway to entertain guests of all ages with the Halloween songs you love, and a few surprises thrown in. You never know where they will turn up next!

Returning in 2019

Sally’s Pumpkin Painting Patch – Choose a pumpkin from our patch to decorate and take home with you! This classic fall activity will be located at the Chick Fil A patio, where kids can let their creativity run free.

Pig-Pen’s People Washer – Clean up with Pig-Pen in our fun foam pit! Located near Snoopy’s Snack Shack, kids will love romping around in the enclosed space while foam flies everywhere.

Van Pelt Derby – Pedal to the metal with Linus around the farm at Van Pelt Derby! Kids can ride round and round on mini tractors, all along a hay maze near the fountain in Planet Snoopy.

Franklin’s Scarecrow Hollow – Speaking of hay mazes, we’ll have an even bigger one set up at Joe Cool’s Pit Stop Patio, where kids can try and find their way out of the hay bales.

Magic with Jonathan Austin – No scary tricks, just fun ones with our strolling magician, Jonathan Austin. He’ll be performing all throughout Planet Snoopy during The Great Pumpkin Fest.

Best part of the event? The Great Pumpkin Fest is included with park admission! Kids ages 3– 5 years old can get in FREE with a Pre-K Pass! Register or renew your child today and they’ll receive FREE park admission for the rest of 2019 and all of 2020, which includes The Great Pumpkin Fest.

If you’re staying for Halloween Haunt later in the evening, No Boo Lanyards can be purchased for the more timid members in your group. These scare-immunity lanyards can be purchased wherever Fright Lanes are sold.

Reminder that Planet Snoopy will close at 6:00 PM each night as the park transforms for Halloween Haunt. We’ll see you this Saturday and Sunday for the opening weekend of The Great Pumpkin Fest!
