Introducing WinterFest at Kings Dominion

We are officially less than one month away from the most wonderful time of the year at Kings Dominion – the opening of our brand-new holiday event, WinterFest! To celebrate all of the excitement, let us introduce you to all of the fun that is waiting for you this November and December.

Lights and Sights

Kings Dominion will transform into a winter wonderland – or should we say 11 winter wonderlands – during WinterFest. The park will be divided up into 11 different themed areas from Charlie Brown’s Christmas Town and Elf Village for the little ones to WinterFest Way full of lights and spectacular décor. Don’t forget to take in all of the sights as you enter the park on International Street, where the Eiffel Tower will be transformed into a Christmas tree that’s over 300 feet tall!

Activities and Experiences

WinterFest is an immersive holiday experience and wouldn’t be complete without exclusive experiences and activities you can only find during this time of the year. We are taking classic family traditions and giving them a fun and festive twist.

Decorate cookies with your family and Mrs. Claus or help Charlie Brown find the perfect Christmas tree – or the one that just needs a little love. Skate around on our International Street Fountains in the shadow of the magnificent Eiffel Tower before heading to write your letter to Santa at the North Pole Post Office. And, don’t forget your visit to the big man himself, Santa!

Live Entertainment

You know how the saying goes – the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear. WinterFest features 13 live shows plus interactive characters throughout the park. Greet one (or all of!) our 34 Midway Merriment Characters including the Sugar Plum Fairy, Jack Frost – even our trio of elves Holly, Jolly and Lolly.

Be sure to catch some of our must-see festive performances throughout the park. Head to the Grande Bandstand each night at 5:30 for the Winterfest Lighting Ceremony, followed by a performance of Cool Yule. Swing by the Old Virginia Christmas Gazebo next to the Kings Dominion Theater for Jingle Jazz or our trio of songstresses, the Mistletones. Need to warm up a bit? Head into the Kings Dominion Theater for Charlie Brown’s Christmas Spectacular. Kiddos of all ages will love Tinker’s Toy Factory in Elf Village.

We can’t forget the rides! Up to 21 rides will be open, weather permitting, including Dominator, Racer 75, Wave Swinger and Delirium. The little ones can enjoy select rides throughout Charlie Brown’s Christmas Town and Elf Village including the Kite Eating Tree, PEANUTS 500, the Great Pumpkin Coaster and Woodstock Whirly Birds.

View the full list of rides here.

Holidays are meant for family, fun and of course food! Enjoy delicious holiday treats and meals throughout the park from Christmas tree shaped pizzas to the traditional holiday dinner of smoked ham and savory sides. Then, for dessert, delight in a ginger bread funnel cake or some warm hot chocolate. And for the 21+ crowd, warm your heart and body with some spiked hot chocolate or beer and wine.

That perfect holiday gift is waiting for you! Be sure to explore the decadent stores on International Street. PEANUTS Holiday Gifts has everything you need to celebrate the season with Snoopy and the PEANUTS gang. Stay warm with an exclusive WinterFest Tacky Sweater, or even a festive hat. Plus, keep your home trimmed for the season with special décor items or stop by our Artisan locations throughout the park for that one-of-a-kind homemade gift.
