Soak City Lifeguards are responsible for guarding swimmers in their zone of coverage and for the safe and efficient operation of the aquatic areas of Soak City. They will work directly and communicate continuously with waterpark guests in a variety of situations. This includes the providing of proper dispatch intervals in accordance with the standard operating procedures for each attraction. The Lifeguards will be directly responsible for enforcing the waterpark and slide admission requirements. Lifeguards will achieve full certification in accordance with the National Pool and Waterpark Lifeguard Training Program as developed by Jeff Ellis & Associates

Admissions Host

The primary responsibility is to give the best first impression to our guest as they enter and exit the park. When guests enter the park the Admissions Host has the responsibility of processing tickets and season passes, selling tickets to guests, or taking pictures and redeeming new season passes. Will need to remain familiar with basic park information, special events, concerts, ticket promotions, etc in order to answer guest questions related to the park.  Some scenarios, such as selling tickets, require basic math skills.

Culinary Staff

The primary responsibility of this position is to prepare a wide variety of foods and entrees with diverse methods of preparation. May also need to oversee the quality of preparation and presentation of food items for assigned food location. This positions requires excellent attention to detail including adherence to product sensitivities and plate preparation. This position is responsible for ensuring and overseeing all food items are prepared and presented to Kings Dominion’s standards of excellence.

First Aid/EMT

Primary responsibility is to provide basic medical care services to associates and park guests, as well as providing life support and emergency care services. Different scenarios will occur daily with different individuals, so EMT is also required to provide quality care with empathy. Must have EMT Certification, and be of at least 18 years of age.

Food Host

The primary responsibility of a Food Host is to assist the guests in making food purchases. This includes helping the guest decide what type of food they would like, taking the guest's order, ringing the sale on a cash register, accepting payment from the guest, and giving the guest their food order. Other responsibilities include preparing cooked foods to fill orders; packing food to go; and maintaining a clean, sanitary environment by cleaning the work area and washing dishes as needed.

Games Attendant

The primary responsibility of a Games Attendant is to assist the guest in the play of different types of games of skill. This includes explaining the rules of the game to the guest, demonstrating how the game is played, accepting payment from the guest, making change, distributing the items needed to play the game, awarding prizes, and encouraging the guest to play again. A Games Attendant is also responsible for housekeeping, stocking prizes, and safety in their assigned location.

Merchandise Host

The primary responsibility of a Merchandise Host is to assist guests in making purchases. This includes helping the guests select and locate items; ringing the guest's sale on a cash register; accepting payment from the guests; making change; and wrapping and bagging of the guests' purchase. A Merchandise Host is also responsible for maintaining appropriate stock levels, housekeeping and safety in their assigned location.

Park Services Host

This position is responsible for maintaining the day to day cleanliness of Kings Dominion. Also requires in engaging in pleasant conversation with guests in assigned areas.

Ride Attendant

The primary responsibility of a Ride Attendant is to assist each guest in safely riding each ride. This includes greeting the guest at the entry of a ride; explaining the limitations and restrictions to the guest; seating the guest in the ride; securing safety restraints; and operating the ride. A Ride Attendant is also responsible for cleaning their assigned ride. You must be at least 16 years of age.

Security Officer

The park maintains its own staff of security officers who patrol all areas of the park including employee-only backstage areas.  Officers will engage with guests in a variety of capacities in varied situations each day – all while maintaining a positive and helpful demeanor.  Basic data entry is required while creating reports and updating security related computer programs. All officers undergo security training and the position require standing for extended periods of time. You must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license.

Security Screener

Individuals are required to monitor access into the park and to prevent prohibited items from entering the park via metal detectors. All associates undergo training and the position requires standing for extended periods of time. This position does not require any previous security work experience. The position does require that you are at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license.

Costume Character

Kings Dominion features the PEANUTS™ family of characters. All applicants must be between 4'-6" and 5'-4". Previous experience in children's theatre, character costume performance, and related experience is helpful but not required. Must be physically able to handle the demands of working in a full body costume, including heat, limited visibility, and limited mobility.

Costume Character Usher

Must enjoy working with children. Must also be self-motivated, enthusiastic and work well without constant supervision. Should be able to relate to children both as a teacher/authority figure and as a friend.

Theater Usher

Positions are available for ushers who greet and assist guests at our various venues. Must be friendly, enthusiastic, and work well with others.
