Rides Maintenance Mechanic

Kings Dominion has an immediate opening for the position of Rides Maintenance Mechanic in Doswell, Virginia. This full time position will report to the Supervisor of Rides Maintenance.

JOB SUMMARY:
Inspects, maintains and repairs rides and equipment as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma supplemented by three to five years of experience in mechanical/industrial maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Knowledge of all phases of mechanical work including pneumatics, hydraulics, repair, overhaul and preventive maintenance.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to climb heights up to 350 feet.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Basic welding helpful.
  • Must provide own tools.
  • Position requires rotating first and second shifts; including weekends and holidays during the operating season.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test and background check, which may include, but is not limited to credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy.
  • Strong, instinctive work ethic.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspects, maintains and repairs rides and equipment as assigned. Lubricates rides and equipment. Clean mechanical parts as needed. Responds to work order and ride downtime calls in timely manner. Disassembles, repairs, overhauls and reassembles rides as assigned.
  • Designs and fabricates parts; rebuilds components.
  • Winterizes and winter rebuilds rides as assigned. Conducts non-destructive testing.
  • Saws, repairs, restores and reupholsters ride seats.
  • Operates rides, boom truck, overhead crane, forklift, man lift, hoist, air compressor, hydraulic press, milling machine, diagnostic equipment, welding equipment, hand and power tools, cutting torch, etc.
  • Adheres to and enforces all park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to guest service in all aspects of employment.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

Senior Sales Representative

Kings Dominion has an immediate opening for the position Senior Sales Representative in Doswell, Virginia.  This full time position will report to the Sales Director.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Sales Representative is responsible for developing, managing, and increasing sales within assigned geographic territory as well as Kings Dominion’s major "In-House" accounts.  The Senior Sales Representative will also serve as the functional leader for the 2 territory sales reps which report to this position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Sales or other related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Marketing, Sales, Theme Park, Entertainment, Hospitality or Travel Industry or other related field
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an independent environment with minimum supervision and deliver against set goals.
  • Strong time and project management skills and experience.
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills, experience in public presentations, superior spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as required by business and account demands.
  • Proficient in basic business software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and comfortable with learning new software.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops, manages, and sells to new and existing accounts within a very critical and competitive geographic territory or business segment through in-person sales and service calls, ensuring both parks meet or exceed established goals. Manages territory/segment by spending a minimum of 60% of time soliciting sales at customers' or potential customers' places of business.
  • Establish and maintain rapport with clients and potential clients. Follow up with clients after client outings ensuring client satisfaction on all levels. Respond to inquiries regarding sales and events from customers and potential customers in a timely manner. Respond to client complaints in a timely manner and proactively with issues for resolution. Assist in maintaining up-to-date and accurate client information.
  • Oversee The Norfolk and North Carolina Sales Regions, working in conjunction with the sale rep to identify new opportunities and to provide support and training to help develop the regions.
  • Oversee house account clients such as Entertainment Benefits group and others that may apply.
  • Track and analyze sales data and report changes and trends to Sales Director CRM lead for sales activity on a weekly basis.
  • Interact and communicate positively and successfully with various groups and individuals such as the immediate supervisor, other park managers, co-workers, other park employees, clients/potential clients, vendors and the general public. Participate in sales training and professional development sessions as required.
  • Adheres to and enforces all park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to guest service in all aspects of employment.

Manager - Food & Beverage

Kings Dominion has an immediate opening for the position of Manager, Food & Beverage in Doswell, Virginia.  This full time position will report to the Director of Food & Beverage

JOB SUMMARY:

This position supervises the daily food operations within Kings Dominion, including restaurants, concession carts, and special events.  Ensures excellent guest service, food quality, presentation, safety and sanitation.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Business Management or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Three to five years of food and beverage/kitchen operations management.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures service, quality and integrity standards are maintained throughout the Food and Beverage department. Implements, controls and coordinates food policies, procedures and financial goals to include:  handbooks, training and motivation, communication, cost of sales, per cap, labor costs, and other expenses.
  • Ensures food locations are in compliance with health, fire, ABC and sanitation standards.
  • Maintains appropriate staffing levels and develops and implements employee retention programs to increase morale and productivity.
  • Selects, trains, supervises and directs seasonal area supervisors. Ensures documentation and performance appraisals are maintained for all seasonal staff and seasonal leadership.
  • Assists with planning, costing and retailing of menu items.
  • Develops and monitors operating budget on an ongoing basis.
  • Keeps abreast of industry trends and practices.
  • Ensures the food department maximizes sales and profits through proper cash handling, inventory controls and Point of Sales controls.

Landscape Tech

Kings Dominion has an immediate opening for the position of Landscape Technician in Doswell, Virginia.  This full time position will report to the Supervisor of Landscaping.


JOB SUMMARY:
This position performs various tasks as required in the maintenance of Park grounds and landscape.  This position includes basic maintenance and repair on small machinery and equipment.  

QUALIFICATIONS:
•    High School diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by one to two years of experience in general grounds keeping work, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
•    Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Horticulture preferred, but not required. 
•    Position requires substantial amounts of outdoor work in all weather conditions and in the presence of fumes, odors and dust.
•    Position requires rotating first and second shifts; including weekends and holidays during the operating season.
•    Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
•    Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test and background check, which may include, but is not limited to credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy.
•    Strong, instinctive work ethic.


 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Plans, implements and oversees plant production for entire park.
•    Manages greenhouse facilities, maintains records of activities and prepares reports.
•    Designs, plants and maintains flowerbeds and planters throughout park.
•    Fertilizes, propagates and waters plants and flowers; sprays pesticides as needed.
•    Scouts, diagnoses and treats insect and disease problems as they relate to horticulture.
•    Performs tasks of landscaping and ground maintenance including mulching, mowing, tree trimming, pruning, irrigation and hauling.  Removes ice/snow as needed.  Weeds, trims, rakes, fertilizes, plants, waters and perform general cleanup of shrub beds and grass areas in and around park.  
•    Assists in the duties of waste management by collecting and compacting cardboard, cleaning around trash compactors and pulling dumpsters. Oversees the duties of the Wash Down operation:  uses sweeper, blower and hoses to clean Park daily.
•    Adheres to and enforces all park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to guest service in all aspects of employment.
