Kings Dominion has an opening in its Rides Maintenance Division for Rides Tech, Electrical. This position will report to the Supervisor, Electrical.

JOB FUNCTIONS SUMMARY:

Performs inspection, maintenance and repair of computerized ride control systems, electrical utilities and other equipment in the park. Performs related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Maintain Journey Electrical license
  • Medium voltage experience a plus
  • Industrial electrical experience preferre
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV,previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Driver's License

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operates overhead crane, forklift, man lift, hoist, air compressor, hydraulic press, diagnostic equipment, hand and power tools, etc.
  • Conducts winterization and winter maintenance of computerized ride control systems and electrical equipment in the park and campground.
  • Able to climb and work at heights of 350 feet.
  • Assist in installation, remodeling, retrofits and rehabilitates rides and buildings as needed.
  • Responds to work orders and ride downtime calls in a timely manner.
  • Modifies electrical/electronic systems as needed to ensure ride safety and efficiency.
  • Diagnoses electrical problems, initiates required repair work, maintains and troubleshoots AC/DC motors, drives, monitoring equipment, relays, switches, limiters, transformers, etc. and maintenance as required.
  • Maintains and repairs park lighting and fixtures.
  • Installs electrical conduit and wiring; cleans electrical equipment and components; maintains controls on rides; maintains ride lighting.
  • Conducts preventative maintenance on rides, computerized ride control systems, electrical utilities and equipment.
  • Performs daily inspection, maintenance and repair computerized ride control systems, electrical utilities and equipment in the park and other equipment as needed.
  • Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
  • Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
  • Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Meets Cedar Fair's attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar Fair's attendance policies.
  • Adheres to Cedar Fair's Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.

Kings Dominion has an opening in its Merchandise Division for Manager --  Merchandise. This position will report to the Retail Director.

JOB SUMMARY:
Plans, directs, and supervises the Merchandise operations of the Park to generate the highest possible profit for the Department and Park through revenue, inventory control, expense management, product purchasing, and labor control. Negotiates, manages, and secures concession businesses. Ensures the provision of quality guest service. Supervises and reviews the work of Merchandise Area Manager and seasonal leadership staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Oversees all Merchandise operations including retail gift shops, ride photos, merchandise carts, locker rental, stroller rental, merchandise concessions, warehouse and central receiving operations. Inspects merchandise retail locations for visual integrity, inventory control, operational efficiencies, safety, cleanliness, and guest service. Initiates and develops new initiatives for performing daily activities, product ideas, and store concepts; anticipates merchandise trends; approves seasonal promotions.
  • Ensures that proper controls are in place to prevent employee theft, shoplifting, shrink, damage, and other losses. Coordinates with the Security Department, Cash Services, Cash Control, and Safety to minimize loss.
  • Develops working relationships with vendor service representatives who provide regular service to displays in the Park including sunglasses, name-programs, jewelry, posters, etc.
  • Communicates with the Corporate Resale Team and Merchandise Departments at other parks within the Company about retail trends, company policies, industry practices, etc. Attends the annual Cedar Fair Consistency Meeting and participates in regular company-wide Merchandise & Games conference calls.
  • Works with the Corporate Resale Team to prepare the annual import order. Coordinates with Corporate Production and Design to develop graphics and artwork for custom merchandise products.
  • Responsible for department financials to include: development of annual department budget; budget forecasts; department cost of sales; maintain approved inventory levels; approves expenditures in accordance with budget allocations. Develops and/or adjusts short and long range plans and strategies to meet or exceed sales and inventory goals.
  • Provides adequate training and development of Full-Time Area Manager, Seasonal Leadership, and other employees within all areas of the Merchandise Department.
  • Adheres to and enforces all Cedar Fair and specific Park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
