EXECUTIVE CHEF

Kings Dominion has an immediate opening for the position of Executive Chef in Doswell, Virginia. This full time position will report to the Director of Food Operations.
 

JOB SUMMARY:
Develops menus, recipes, and preparation methods for all restaurant and quick service locations in conjunction with Food Management. Assists in the development and training of both full-time and seasonal support staff to ensure they are certified to perform their respective duties to meet divisional standards. This position reports to the Director of Food Operations.


QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality/Culinary or a related field or equivalent of combined education and experience.
• Minimum of 5-7 years related experience in food and beverage operations/chef.
• Demonstrated ability to work in an independent environment with minimum supervision.
• Ability to effectively communicate with various parties in daily operations.
• Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
• Proficient in basic business software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and be comfortable with learning new software applications.
• Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test and background check, which may include, but is not limited to credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy.
• Strong, instinctive work ethic.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensures all food preparation personnel are properly trained and certified to perform their respective duties to meet divisional standards in conjunction with department managers. Assists with coordination of the Food R&D program for the division.
• Ensures all food quality standards are consistently maintained throughout the division. Ensures compliance with all local, state and federal regulations for food service operations ensuring these regulations, as well as company and divisional policies, are effectively being carried out in all kitchen facilities in conjunction with department managers.
• Oversees operation of Commissary. Plans and oversees the execution of special event catering and park guest experiences.
• Maintains effective communication with all employees and staff members, informing the Director of all developments arising within the division on a daily basis.
• Motivates supervisors and associates to seek improvement in individual performances.
• Manages seasonal support staff and addresses disciplinary situations accordingly.
• Adheres to and enforces all park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to guest service in all aspects of employment.
• Other duties as may be assigned.

Kings Dominion has an immediate opening for the position of Human Resources Area Manager in Doswell, Virginia. This full time position will report to the Human Resources Director.

JOB SUMMARY:
Manages all aspects of the Human Resources employment administration process to include processing of paperwork, record keeping/documentation, payroll and benefits administration and related HRIS functions for all associates. Communicates to full-time, part-time and seasonal associates and ensures compliance with all federal and state employment laws as well as with company policies and procedures. Assists with the overall management of the Human Resources office. Supervises and reviews the work of subordinate staff. Performs related administrative, supervisory and professional work as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development or other related field.
• Minimum 2 years related experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work in an independent environment with minimum supervision and deliver against set goals.
• Strong time and project management skills and experience.
• Advanced written and oral communication skills, as well as, superior spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
• Ability to work nights and weekends as required by business and account demands.
• Proficient in basic business software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and comfortable with learning new software.
• Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test and background check, which may include, but is not limited to credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per company policy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage all aspects of the Human Resources employment administration process to include, but not limited to, applicant tracking, paperwork processing, document/record retention, benefits administration and payroll (for direct reports and all full-time staff). Ensures adequate and friendly service is provided to all who visit the Human Resources office.
• Manage recruitment lifecycle and onboarding for all exempt and non-exempt full time positions. Coordinates interviews with hiring managers, trains new full-time hires on basic park and company information as well as assist in explanation and registration for company benefits.
• Administers all aspects of the Group Fundraising program.
• Ensures budgeting guidelines are met; prioritizes expenditures to stay within budget.
• Assist with preparation of annual labor and P&L budget.
• Communicates to employees on all levels (seasonal, part-time and full-time) to ensure compliance with corporate policy and federal/state/local employment law.
• Manages daily workflow and performance of direct reports, addresses disciplinary situations and provides input into selection, promotion and termination decisions.
• Serve as Human Resources Officer on Duty as scheduled on park operating days.
• Adhere to and enforces all park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to guest service in all aspects of employment.
• Other duties as may be assigned.
