EXECUTIVE CHEF

Kings Dominion has an immediate opening for the position of Executive Chef in Doswell, Virginia. This full time position will report to the Director of Food Operations.

JOB SUMMARY:
Develops menus, recipes, and preparation methods for all restaurant and quick service locations in conjunction with Food Management. Assists in the development and training of both full-time and seasonal support staff to ensure they are certified to perform their respective duties to meet divisional standards. This position reports to the Director of Food Operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality/Culinary or a related field or equivalent of combined education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years related experience in food and beverage operations/chef.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an independent environment with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with various parties in daily operations.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Proficient in basic business software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and be comfortable with learning new software applications.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test and background check, which may include, but is not limited to credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy.
  • Strong, instinctive work ethic.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensures all food preparation personnel are properly trained and certified to perform their respective duties to meet divisional standards in conjunction with department managers. Assists with coordination of the Food R&D program for the division.
  • Ensures all food quality standards are consistently maintained throughout the division. Ensures compliance with all local, state and federal regulations for food service operations ensuring these regulations, as well as company and divisional policies, are effectively being carried out in all kitchen facilities in conjunction with department managers.
  • Oversees operation of Commissary. Plans and oversees the execution of special event catering and park guest experiences.
  • Maintains effective communication with all employees and staff members, informing the Director of all developments arising within the division on a daily basis.
  • Motivates supervisors and associates to seek improvement in individual performances.
  • Manages seasonal support staff and addresses disciplinary situations accordingly.
  • Adheres to and enforces all park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to guest service in all aspects of employment.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

JOB SUMMARY:
Manages the operations of the Associate Services Department and Associate Housing Department. Oversees and coordinates the Associate Relations Program and Associate Events. Assists with HRIS functions, communications to full time and seasonal associates and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures. Supervises and reviews the work of subordinate staff. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage, train and supervise the overall operation and staff of the Associate Services Department, Associate Housing Department and Associate Events.
• Develop and maintain supply expenditure and labor budgets for Associate Services Department, Associate Housing, Associate Relations and Events programs. Monitor budget activity throughout the year.
• Coordinate the seasonal transportation program in conjunction with the Security Department.
• Coordinate all aspects of the Employee Benefits program including planning and implementation of all employee recreational activities, the employee discount program and employee newsletter.
• Create and conduct employee satisfaction surveys, oversee and conduct audits of seasonal employees in the park to ensure compliance to company guidelines.
• Oversee the company’s progressive discipline program, including monitoring counseling summaries and evaluations issued to employees for consistency within the organization. Trains, counsels and coaches managers and seasonal supervisory staff regarding consistency.
• Receive and review various records and reports including schedules, invoices, applications, guest satisfaction reports, operations reports, mid month reports, staffing reports and various other reports, forms, etc. as they pertain to areas of responsibility.
• Assist with the Domestic Recruiting Program to include onsite and offsite recruitment and advertising.
• Act as liaison with vendors regarding outsourced products and services in areas of responsibility.
• Assist in maintaining the company’s internal/ web-based JOBNET application tracking program.
• Attend and conduct training sessions, meetings and make presentations.
• Serve as Human Resources Officer on Duty as scheduled.
• Adhere to and enforces all park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to guest service in all aspects of employment.
• Other duties as may be assigned.

Kings Dominion has an immediate opening for the position of Tech Rides Maintenance in Doswell, Virginia. This full time position will report to the Supervisor of Rides Maintenance.

JOB SUMMARY:
Inspects, maintains and repairs rides and equipment as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma supplemented by three to five years of experience in mechanical/industrial maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Knowledge of all phases of mechanical work including pneumatics, hydraulics, repair, overhaul and preventive maintenance.
• Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to climb heights up to 350 feet.
• Ability to work independently.
• Basic welding helpful.
• Must provide own tools.
• Position requires rotating first and second shifts; including weekends and holidays during the operating season.

• Inspects, maintains and repairs rides and equipment as assigned. Lubricates rides and equipment. Clean mechanical parts as needed. Responds to work order and ride downtime calls in timely manner. Disassembles, repairs, overhauls and reassembles rides as assigned.
• Designs and fabricates parts; rebuilds components.
• Winterizes and winter rebuilds rides as assigned. Conducts non-destructive testing.
• Saws, repairs, restores and reupholsters ride seats.
• Operates rides, boom truck, overhead crane, forklift, man lift, hoist, air compressor, hydraulic press, milling machine, diagnostic equipment, welding equipment, hand and power tools, cutting torch, etc.
• Adheres to and enforces all park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to guest service in all aspects of employment.
• Other duties as may be assigned.
