HVAC & Refrigeration Mechanic

Kings Dominion has an opening in its Park Maintenance Division for a HVAC & Refrigeration Mechanic. This position will report to the HVAC Supervisor.

JOB FUNCTIONS SUMMARY:
Installs, monitors, constructs, maintains and repairs heating, ventilation, chiller systems, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems throughout the Park. Maintains and repairs all food and beverage cooking equipment throughout the Park. Responds to service calls. Performs related work as required.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Must maintain required control system operations certifications.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Driver's License

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operates vacuum pump, recovery unit, forklift, drills, JLG man lift, etc. Uses meters, gauges, shop tools, electrician tools, diagnostic equipment, volt meters, analyzers, etc.
  • Maintains park's chiller plant, boiler systems, food service equipment, etc.
  • Maintains and operates Fire Effects systems. Conduct daily safety operational checks and checklists, maintain wage logs, inspect burner assemblies and gas valves. Conducts minor repairs as needed, coordinate with rides maintenance to start and stop effects; burn off effects adhering to manufacturer and park standards.
  • Conducts winterization and startup. Flush outdoor drink systems, restarts all equipment and check buildings for problems with equipment related systems before park opening. Flush, drain, and add necessary chemicals, etc.
  • Troubleshoots and services problems and equipment failures. Responds to service calls for refrigeration units such as walk-in freezers, coolers, ice machines, soft service machines, prep coolers, display cases, etc.
  • Installs, monitors, maintains, repairs and retrofits HVAC&R equipment and systems throughout the Park. Performs preventative maintenance for refrigeration units and HVAC&R systems: changes belts, bearings, greasing, etc.
  • Troubleshoots and makes repairs to HVAC&R systems such as direct expansion units, chilled water units, 1-25 tens, electrical, gas units and exhaust/hood systems.
  • Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
  • Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
  • Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Meets Cedar Fair's attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar Fair's attendance policies.
  • Adheres to Cedar Fair's Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Administrator. This position will report to the Manager Information Technology.

JOB FUNCTIONS SUMMARY:
Installs, configures, tests and maintains operating systems and related infrastructure and software. Ensures systems and related procedures are up to date and functioning as expected. Provides technical support to system users and resolves software,operating system, and networking problems. Schedules, performs and monitors systems backups and maintains user accounts.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows environment (Windows 7/8, Server, Exchange, SQL), network (WAN/LAN, TCP/IP, VPN, Firewall) workstation and printer software.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting ability and hands-on experience with MS Active Directory and computer repair.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Duties include scripting, light programming, small project management, training lead technicians and end users in system use.
  • Provides technical assistance and input for planning, analysis, development, and support of all park systems and technology-related projects and initiatives.
  • Plans and performs system implementations, upgrades, and repairs. Recommends hardware and software upgrades according to growth statistics and disc space forecasts and maintains accurate records of maintenance and parts inventory.
  • Schedules system maintenance tasks using software support tools and scripts and verifies completion of scheduled jobs such as backups. Repairs and recovers from hardware and software failures; coordinates and communicates with impacted parties.
  • Performs regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
  • Performs and maintains system administration functions and takes proactive measures to ensure that network systems are operating at peak performance. Performs regular file archival and purges as necessary and periodic performance reporting to support capacity.
  • Provides administrative and user support for various enterprise applications like JD Edwards financial reporting,TAS timekeeping, Micros, and Gate Central ticketing applications. Troubleshoots and supports Point of Sale systems.
  • Creates, maintains, and deletes all system user accounts and enforces Company policies relating to access of resources, as applicable. Manages and maintains Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange network; creates and assists with the management of all user e-mail accounts.
  • Manages and prioritizes help desk calls and service requests from system users on a daily basis. Troubleshoots and resolves software, operating system and networking problems. Leads, directs and prioritizes seasonal technician daily workloads. Provides shift coverage and responds to system outages as assigned.
