Intimidator™ 305 Races Its Way to World Domination

Wednesday, June 19th, 2013

DOSWELL, VA (June 19, 2013) – Intimidator™ 305 – one of the tallest roller coasters on the East Coast with speeds of more than 90 miles per hour – has raced its way to world domination by defeating three other menacing roller coasters on Travel Channel’s “Insane Coaster Wars: World Domination”.

The roller coaster, inspired by the late NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt, received a final score of 915 points out of a possible 1000 from riders at the park. Intimidator 305 outpaced roller coasters Titan in Texas, Blue Fire in Germany and Tower of Terror II in Australia to capture the win. You can watch the clip of Intimidator™ 305 at

This recognition for IntimidatorTM 305 adds to an already exciting and record-breaking year at Kings Dominion. In March, Kings Dominion unveiled the bigger, better Planet Snoopy with eight new family rides (18 total rides) that are designed specifically for families to experience together. Planet Snoopy features Snoopy’s Rocket Express – an aerial 600 foot long monorail – along with the classic teacups with a new Woodstock twist on Woodstock Whirlybirds and more. The 14-acre children’s park is the largest PEANUTS™-themed area in the world.

This Saturday, June 22nd, Kings Dominion will debut a new, high-energy BMX-style bike show, “All Wheel Sports” with bikers, skaters and gymnasts who were semi-finalists during Season Seven of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent”. All Wheel Sports is one of seven new live shows at Kings Dominion in 2013 and part of the largest live entertainment line-up at the park in years. Guests can watch the gravity-defying stunts at the PEANUTS™ Showplace Theater inside Planet Snoopy.

On Sunday, July 7th, Kings Dominion will be featured again on another episode of Travel Channel’s “Insane Coaster Wars: World Domination” when Volcano: The Blast Coaster takes on three other roller coasters from around the world. Insane Coaster Wars: World Domination airs at 8:30 PM ET/PT.

Kings Dominion is owned and operated by Cedar Fair Entertainment Company, a publicly traded partnership that is listed for trading on The New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “FUN.” In addition to Kings Dominion, Cedar Fair owns and operates ten other amusement parks, four water parks, one indoor water park, and five hotels. Cedar Fair also operates the Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park in California under a management contract. ©2013 Dale Earnhardt, Inc.
