Kings Dominion is dedicated to helping non-profit groups achieve their goals and raise money for their organization. Interested groups can work in the park on select days. The hourly wages collectively earned by all members is then donated directly to their organization.

The Group will be rewarded a base rate of $6.25 per hour worked per volunteer. If each volunteer successfully completes the entire shift, the organization will be paid an additional $1.00 per hour completion bonus for each hour volunteered.

The group check will be made payable to the name of the Non-profit Organization listed on the W-9 Form. The check will be sent by mail to the group leader within four weeks of the date volunteered. Please note that Kings Dominion must have a current W-9 form (Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification Form) on file before your check can be sent.

The group will be eligible for a confirmation bonus if they bring the confirmed number of volunteers listed on their letter of agreement and if all volunteers are eligible to participate in the program. All members of the volunteer group must successfully complete their shift. In the event a member of the group does not successfully complete the program (leaves early without authorization, is found to be under the age of 16 and must be sent home, etc.) the organization will not be eligible for the completion bonus.

• If a group confirms between 5 and 10 volunteers and brings 100% of their confirmed number an additional $25 bonus will be donated to the organization
• If a group confirms between 11 and 14 volunteers and brings 100% of their confirmed number an additional $50 bonus will be donated to the organization.
• If a group confirms 15 – 19 volunteers and brings 100% of their confirmed number an additional $75 bonus will be donated to the organization.
• If a group confirms 20 or more volunteers and brings 100% of their confirmed number an additional $100 bonus will be donated to the organization.

All volunteers must be at least 16 years of age, and cannot be employed by King’s Dominion. All volunteers must bring a valid original state or school issued photo ID with proof of age each time they work at the park. Volunteers who do not bring proper identification will not be permitted to volunteer.

Food and Beverage
Prepare and serve food and drinks, cash handling, cleaning and dishwashing. Most positions are inside, though some are outside.

Pavillion
Serve menu items along with duties such as cleaning and dishwashing. Positions are in open-air picnic shelters.

Games
Encourage and assist guest in playing games of skill. Position requires cash handling, microphone use and giving out prizes to our winners! Most games are in open-air shelters.

Merchandise
Help run one of our varieties of specialty shops. Positions require cash handling, guest assistance, selling novelty items, cleaning, stocking and straightening shops.

Haunt
Play a role as either a creeper or a maze character during our Halloween Haunt event. All characters scare guests that walk through scare zones or play a specific role in one of our gruesome mazes. Training and costumes will be provided by the park.

Shirts
Any style solid white shirt is permitted. Sleeveless, crop tops, mesh, silk screened shirts, logoed shirts or undershirts are not permitted. Organizations may wear a t-shirt/sweatshirt listing their name; provided it is solid in color and all members of the group have the exact same appropriate shirt/sweatshirt. Organization t-shirts/sweatshirts must be approved, by Kings Dominion Fundraising coordinator prior to the volunteer date.

Pants/Shorts
Solid khaki pants or shorts. No other color may be worn. No denim material.  No cargo style may be worn. Pants/shorts must be worn around the waist and with a belt.

Shorts must reach below your fingertips with arms extended at your side. If wearing shorts, volunteers must wear solid white socks.

Shoes
Should wear comfortable shoes such as tennis or gym shoes, preferably in white. Boots, sandals, open toed shoes or heels are not permitted.

Hats/Coats
Only hats and coats issued by Kings Dominion are permissible. Scarves, bandanas, "do rags," or knit hats are not permitted. Organizations may wear their organization jackets provided all members are wearing the exact same jacket.

*HAUNT VOLUNTEERS should report to work in ALL black – shirt, pants, and shoes.

Cedar Fair Appearance Standards
